| Historic Landmark in Summit, New Jersey To Be Preserved and Expanded into First Class Office Space
Greenock Capital has announced its plan to develop the Claremont Corporate Center at 535 Springfield Avenue in Summit. The original structure of this historic building, known as the Risk Building, will be preserved and converted into office space, incorporating a state of the art new addition. The plans include preserving many of the original brownstone and granite characteristics and constructing a new, modern office building with underground parking. Additional features of the building will include new aluminum windows, an atrium complete with glass parapets and skylights, new elevators, as well as new exterior lighting and landscaping.
The historic building located in downtown Summit was once occupied by Dr. William H. Risk, a prominent physician who came to Summit in 1873. Wesketch Architecture in Millington, New Jersey, is the architect of record for this landmark project.
“We are very excited to announce our office development plans for this important gateway to downtown Summit,” stated Chris Innes, Chief Executive Officer of Greenock Capital. “We are combining the stunning façade of the existing Risk building with a new office building that provides all of the modern amenities sophisticated tenants require. This unique project offers tenants a premier space option unlike any other in the Summit/Short Hills area.”
The CBRE team of Jeffrey Heller and William McCaffrey, executive vice presidents, are leading this exclusive leasing assignment for Claremont Corporate Center. “We are pleased to be serving as leasing agent for this one-of-a-kind, historic building in Summit,” stated Jeffrey Heller. The building’s history, coupled with the exciting restoration and expansion plans, make this a very unique opportunity for tenants looking for quality office space in downtown Summit.”
Situated in a prominent location in downtown Summit, at the corner of Morris and Springfield Avenues, Claremont Corporate Center is part of the Morris Avenue corridor from Route 24 and along River Road towards I-78.
